Meet the Staff
Misty Dion
Misty Dion is the Independent Living Department Manager for CILNCP. Misty began working here in February of 2005. She has two Associate Degrees in Human Services. One from Alfred State College of Technology in Alfred, NY and one from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. Misty also earned a Bachelor Degree in Human Services from Pennsylvania College as well.
One of the best parts of her job is promoting disability awareness, as it is an integral part of public awareness, which in turn, helps eliminate the physical and attitudinal barriers that people with disabilities continue to experience.
Misty's philosophy is: “There is good in every person and the negative perceptions perceived by others are merely the reflections of their own insecurities. Although it may not always be clear in the moment, every person is trying the very best that he or she can in any particular situation.”
This inherent belief in human beings guides her throughout her interactions with consumers. It also helps her be mindful of the unique and positive qualities instilled in others. At the same time, this philosophy reminds her to stay positive and genuine while continuously striving to be as objective as possible.
