Meet the Staff
Thea Bird
Thea Bird recently joined the CILNCP taking on the role of a Service Coordinator for the Attendant Care program. Thea graduated from the Williamsport Area High School in 2000 and continued her education at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor degree in Social Work in 2004. She has a background in the social service’s field with a past employment history as a Community Specialist for local summer school programs and as a Social Worker at The Williamsport Home and Southerncare Hospice. All of her previous jobs have encouraged her to work closely with the target population, often making home visits or acting as an advocate for the Residents in a facility.
Thea has always believed in serving the community and helping individuals advance their rights in any setting or situation. She also believes there is much satisfaction that comes with helping others as she understands that there have been times in her life when she has needed others to assist her and her family in the past.
Keeping a positive attitude and a willingness to grow and learn is what has got Thea to where she is today. She often keeps in mind these words of wisdom, “Some people come into our lives and quickly go, like waves briefly touching the shore. Some people stay for awhile, and give us a deeper understanding of what is truly important in this life. They touch our souls. We gain strength from the footprints they have left on our hearts, and we will never ever be the same.”
