Holly Hurlbert Holly E. Hurlbert

My name is Holly Hurlbert. Holly is the Program Service Coordinator for the Home and Community Based Services with the Center for Independent Living of North Central PA (CILNCP). SWAT- CO works on statewide advocacy issues. There are 18 SWATCO’s all over PA, and as a team they work on systemic advocacy issues as well as local advocacy. If you want to join an advocacy group please contact Holly at the CILNCP.

Holly graduated from Lycoming College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her majors were Commercial Design and Business Administration with a concentration on Marketing. She was inducted into the economic honors society, Omicron Delta Epsilon.

Holly has resided in Lycoming County since the age of nine when she was adopted from South Korea. From this early age, Holly has known what it was to feel different. This feeling continued when she was diagnosed with lupus at the age of sixteen, and later became paralyzed. Holly now is able to relate to the struggles people with disabilities face everyday. After her paralysis, she became a consumer of the services offered by CILNCP.

During her recovery, she spent time volunteering in different organizations. Holly enjoys taking her dog, Clara, to Puppy Love. This program gives children more confidence in reading. She is a big sister to two little girls in the Big Sister and Big Brother Program. Holly was awarded a Big Sister of the Year Award with her mother. Holly says she enjoy spending time with these girls, as they are therapy for her. She alsoI enjoys going to movies, knitting, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her friends.

In Holly's job she hopes to make a difference. Holly believes that all people want to be treated like anyone else, and be given the same opportunities to participate in community activities. She looks forward to helping make our community accessible so that people with disabilities can enjoy what the community can offer.

Contact Holly at hhurlbert@cilncp.org or Communityorganizer@cilncp.org.
